PRESS RELEASE
MANFRED DUBOV KALATSKI (1986) will open his personal exhibition INVOCATIO in Hobusepea gallery at 6pm on July 13, 2011.

Current exposition INVOCATIO is the artist's second personal exhibition. Kalatski recently held a co-exhibition KALATSKI / STRATSKAS with Marta Stratskas in Tartu Art House in April-May 2011. According to the young artist full of diversities, his work can be compared to pulsating poetry which is focusing on expressing and contemplating both the bright and dark sides of life. While depicting mostly various psychological conditions through his personal experience, Dubov Kalatski derives inspiration from medicine, anthropology, German objectivity and Renaissance.
Presently, Dubov Kalatski introduces the painting series INVOCATIO where the artist concentrates on the human desire to be in continuous motion as a man in a continuously changing life and society. While interpreting the title as „provoking something“, Dubov Kalatski describes the possible forms of corporal and mental violence accompanying the challenge.
Exhibition will be open until July 25, 2011.
Supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
