Uno Roosvalt (1941) will open his personal exhibition Path on the Stone in Hobusepea gallery at 5pm on August 10, 2011. Exhibition is divided between two galleries – Draakon gallery gives an overview of Roosvalt's paintings of 2005-2011; Hobusepea gallery presents the artist's drawings completed during the last three years. Also, a documentary about Uno Roosvalt (directed by Igor Ruus, 2008) can be seen in Draakon gallery.

Roosvalt has graduated from the department of painting both at Tartu Art School and Estonian Academy of Arts (formerly Estonian State Art Institute). He has been working as a lecturer in Estonian Academy of Arts since 1969. Participating in exhibitions since 1968. Roosvalt has been awarded with several art prizes, his works belong to the collections of Estonian Art Museum, Tartu Art Museum and Tallinn Art Hall as well as to numerous private collections.

Throughout the last four decades, nature has been the leitmotif in Roosvalt's work, especially coastal landscapes. According to the artist, during the last ten years he has been attracted to Nordic cliffs, mountains and their variegated graphic texture. Selected paintings in Draakon gallery focus on the landscapes of Norway and Iceland, referring to Edvard Munch. Drawings and the series of drawings exhibited in Hobusepea gallery have been inspired by the landscapes of Suomenlinna, Tammisaari, Hanko Cape, Bengtskäri, Gotland, Iceland, Ireland and Ahvenanmaa.
