International Textile Students’ Exhibition "IDENTITY"

International Textile Students’ Exhibition IDENTITY
14.02-14.03.2026
Opening on Friday, February 13 at 5 PM

The aim of the exhibition IDENTITY is to bring together, in one shared space, the works of textile students from art academies in the Baltic countries. Higher art education institutions in neighbouring countries are closely connected through artist–educators, professional networks, and mutual collaboration, and the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore the creative work of students studying at different institutions. The exhibition was initiated by the desire to further strengthen student exchange and to expand cooperation between higher education institutions. In addition, IDENTITY seeks to initiate discussion on the teaching of textile art and design in the participating schools and encourages reflection on the similarities and differences in the current state of the field across the participating countries.

Participating in the exhibition are textile students from art academies in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania: Vilnius Academy of Arts; Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Faculty; Art Academy of Latvia; Estonian Academy of Arts; Pallas University of Applied Sciences.

Each institution selected five works or series of works for the exhibition, representing both bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes. The display is complemented by accompanying texts written by the authors, which provide broader context for the works.
